Monsters of Influence

Johnny peered down at the Eternian computer on his coffee table, in the corner of his bedroom, at the long number in the lower right hand corner. It read 2004.7:08. Johnny sighed.
"The war in question is coming soon." Johnny thought, that was what the man in his dream, his vision had said two weeks ago. And he was right, the current time was 7:08 am October 8th, the battle was meant to start in three month’s. Time was running out, and he had to many questions. Suddenly there was a knock at his door.
"Come in." Johnny said as he flicked a switch on his computer, shutting it off, and Teela entered his room, bound to her wheel chair. "Well sis, you’re up early." Johnny said with a smile.
"Hello little brother, I just wanted to see what you were up to." She said as Johnny walked up next to her and pushed her out of his room and directed her threw the next hallway.
"I had a vision a few weeks ago, it said something about Cassie being the key to a new problem. And I don’t know how to proceed." Johnny said as they entered the dining room.
"Well, have you asked her about it?" Teela asked.
"No, I don’t know whether or not if it will offend her to ask."
"Sound’s to me like your coming up with a reason to not talk to her." Johnny groaned.
"Okay you got me, I’m nervous around her okay, I think.... I don’t know how to handle this." Teela laughed.
"Why don’t you ask her out, it sounds like you two are getting close." Johnny groaned.
"Thanks, you want to take a shot in the gut now?" Johnny said as Teela slowly calmed her laughter, and the chef stepped out with two plates of pancakes. Johnny smiled as he peered down at the beautiful earth food. "Thanks Chef Allen." Johnny said happily as he dug into the food.
"Why you’re welcome young man, and thank you for the help last night." Chef Allen said as he walked back towards the kitchen. Teela gave an inquisitive look.
"What was that about?"
"The chef had a mess in the kitchen last night, I was walking by and he asked me to help and I did." Teela smiled.
"Can you ever think of yourself for one day? You were going to the Phantos moon with Ben and Adam this afternoon. How are you going to be at your peek when you’ve been awake all night?"
"I’ll be fine, I got sleep by the hour back in high school, you had to if you live alone at 17." Johnny said as he took a bite out his hot cakes. "Besides what could go wrong?"

Cassie was just getting dressed when there was a beeping sound coming from her laptop. She opened it to hear the sound of a young girl, twelve years old, wearing almost total pink, and crying in fear. Cassie recognized her instantly.
"MIMI, what’s going on?" She asked in fear.
"Cassie, help, we we’re all in this weird forest and there’s some king of monster after us." Cassie was able to catch a glimpse of the creature behind them.
"A shadow beast! Mimi, I’ll be right there." She said as she closed the laptop and raced out, grabbing her morpher as she raced out of the door. She turned the corner and ran into Ashley.
"What’s wrong Cassie?" She asked.
"Ash, it’s my cousin, she’s here!"

Johnny was walking towards the main hall after a big breakfast when Zhane raced up to him.
"Johnny we need your help." he said between breaths.
"What’s going on?"
"It’s Cassie’s cousin, she and here friends are here on Eternia."
"All right, you and the other rangers go on ahead. I’ll get Adam and meet you there. Get a temporal tracker from Duncan on the way out." Johnny said as he turned around and headed for the palace garage.

"How did you get a hold of your cousin with that thing? They’re not supposed to work in the digital world." Tai said as he and his small dinosaur like friends, Agumon, ran from the pack of shadow beasts.
"I don’t know but she said that she’d be here soon." Mimi and her little friend raced off with their group of friends. As they ran they spotted seven odd shapes flying threw the air; one red, one silver, one purple, one pink, one black, one blue, one yellow. When they flew down closed they could make out what they were, some kind of surfboards gliding threw the air. Each person matched the color of their board in their outfit. Tai reached out as the Red Ranger caught his arm and grabbed his arm. The Black Ranger caught Joe, the Silver Ranger caught Matt, the Blue Ranger caught Izzy, the Yellow Ranger did the same to T.K. and Cari, the Purple Ranger caught Sora, and the Pink Ranger caught Mimi, but their monster friends were still left on the ground.
"Wait, our friends." Mimi said in fear.
"Don’t worry kid-o, Johnny’s taking care of them." Mimi looked up at the Pink Ranger.
"Cassie!?" Mimi looked down to see a blue battle van come up to drive along side the running digimon.
"Any monsters need a lift?" Johnny asked, as he pulled open the side sliding door, allowing the eight monsters to jump in one by one. Johnny then shut the door and took the wheel. Johnny was about to take the wheel and drive back to the palace when he saw a laser blast shoot from the tree branches and hit Cassie’s and Andros’s galaxy gliders. Andros was able to pull up, but Cassie, Mimi and Tai all fell into the evergreen forest below.
"Oh lord no. Attack track, auto pilot, return to base." Johnny said as he pulled the door back open and jumped off the speeding van, he didn’t expect the little plant creature and the small orange T-Rex to follow him, but he welcomed the company.
"The rest of you stay on that van, it will take you to safety." Johnny yelled, and he watched the six little monsters speed away. Johnny then looked down to the two little monsters. "Well I hope you guys like running." Johnny said, as he led the way threw the deep underbrush.

When Cassie hit the ground, she shook her head and took in her surroundings; trees, small bushes, tall grass, and the two children who had fallen with her. Then she looked strait ahead and saw... … … him, the being she could swear she had seen die at least five times over, Darkonda.
"Hello Pink Ranger, it’s been so long." Darkonda said, as he swung at her with his disfigured sword. It was hit by a laser blast and it fell to the ground before it could hit her.
"Get the hell away from her! If you so much as touch a hair on her head I swear I will kill you twenty times over!" Johnny said, as he put his blaster back in its holster and pulled his sword. Darkonda looked at him and smiled at the pink ranger.
"Another time my dear." Darkonda snickered as she raced away. The two children and their digimon hugged, glad to be together again, and Cassie walked up to Johnny.
"How could he be back again?" Cassie asked.
"I don’t know, but if he is, he’s sure to have allies. We’d better move on, he’ll come back soon and we don’t want to spend the night in a place so unprotected."
"So what do we do?" Tai asked as he and his three friends walked up.
"Our best hope is to get to Castle Grayskull before nightfall, where we’ll be protected. Let’s get a move on." as Johnny started walking, followed by Tai and his T-Rex friend, and Cassie, Mimi, and her little plant friend brought up the rear.
"I think he likes you." Mimi said to Cassie.
"I don’t know, but I’ve been wondering since I moved here." As they walked threw the dark forest, Darkonda snickered from behind a tree.
"Excellent, they’ll lead me right to that castle, and that blasted jet will leave me be."
"Come now Darkonda, how can you be so selfish to the one who brought you back to life?" A giant jet shaped man said as he stood over Darkonda.
"You blasted spirit." Darkonda said, as he dove towards him, and flew right threw him.
"You should know by now that you can’t hurt a ghost. Just find that castle, and if you betray me you will be sorry you ever heard my name." The jet man said as he disappeared into nothingness.
"I already am, Starscream."

"So Tai, what’s the difference between a Digimon and a normal monster?" Johnny asked Tai as they walked threw the evergreen forest.
"A Digimon can change form, say Agumon here," Tai said gesturing to the little T-Rex at their side, "To a stronger monster, the next time we’re attacked I’ll show you." Johnny smiled.
"I’m looking forward to it." Johnny said with a smile. Tai glanced behind them, a few feet behind them were Cassie, Mimi, and Palmon followed.
"Are you and Cassie married or something?" Tai asked.
"Where would you get an idea like that?"
"Well she seemed interested in you." Tai replied.
"I see it too." Agumon added. Johnny looked behind them to see Cassie’s face in a beautiful smile.
"We’ll see what happens." Johnny said, feeling a little more confident.
"He did it again." Mimi said to Cassie, as the two of them giggled like school children.
"What’s so funning?" Palmon asked.
"Well, Johnny seems to like Cassie." Mimi said with a big smile. "So what was it like in California?" Mimi asked Cassie.
"Well, it was fine. It was actually kind of fun when I was made a Power Ranger." Cassie said. Suddenly they saw Johnny slip and fall to the floor. Cassie, Mimi, and Palmon raced up and helped him to his feet.
"What happened?" Cassie asked. Johnny just smiled.
"Why Cassie, I didn’t know you cared." Cassie blushed as Johnny looked down to the ground and kneeled down to the chunk of dirt in the ground and dug a small hole. There he found a small jewel there in the hole.
"What is it?" Mimi asked.
"My god Johnny, it’s the Orrin." Cassie said.
"What’s an Orrin?" Agumon asked.
"It’s a jewel that gave me the power of a Power Ranger. But a woman gave it to me from the future, which was eight years ago. And that woman had to be a teenager at the time, I wish I knew more about this thing." Johnny said as he held the Orrin in his hand.
"What happened to the old one?" Tai asked.
"It was destroyed by Skeletor to free King Hiss and ... … maybe that’s because it could destroy them. That woman was named Mystic. What kind of name is Mystic?" Johnny asked as they walked into a large clearing in the center of the forest. Palmon looked around and screamed in fear as she saw the towering skull shaped castle a few yards away.
"Run, it’s a monster!?" Tai yelled. As he ran Johnny caught his shirt collar and held him in place.
"It’s okay. That’s it. That’s Castle Grayskull. Let’s’ go." Johnny said as he led the charge for the mystic castle. Just then from within the distance Darkonda appeared from the same patch of woods, firing lasers from his eyes, and running after them.
"Why dose he want us?" Mimi asked.
"He doesn’t want us, he want’s Grayskull. We’ve got to get in before he does." Cassie yelled between ducking laser blasts.
"What’s so special about a scary looking castle?" Agumon asked.
"Grayskull hold’s all the secrets of the universe, if those powers were to fall into the wrong hands, the entire multiverse could be destroyed." Johnny said as he watched Cassie, Mimi and Palmon jump into the open jaw bridge, just as the jaw bridge started to close.
"Then we need someone to stop him from getting into the Castle right?" Agumon asked. Johnny stopped and turned.
"What are you implying?" Johnny asked.
"Let us stop him." Tai said as he pulled a small device from his belt. "Digi-volving time." Tai said as a blast of light shot out from the small device, blanketing Agumon in a brilliant glow. Through the glow Agumon yelled.
"AGUMON WARP DIGIVOLVE TO..." Agumon started to transform from a small two foot tall T-Rex, to a twelve foot giant, as four foot long talons grew from his gauntlet’s. "WAR-GREYMON!"
"KUMBIYAAA!?" Johnny said as he looked up at the man who was seconds ago, was the cute little monster Agumon.
"TAI, you and Johnny get into the castle. I’ll hold him off." War-Greymon said as he engaged Darkonda in battle.
"Let’s go." Johnny said as they raced to the jaw bridge. No one noticed the small glowing orb floating into the castle just before the massive jaw bridge closed.

As the five visitors of Grayskull raced into the main thrown room, they were shocked and were forced to stop to see the Sorceress, weaken and slumped over her stone thrown.
"Mother, what happened?!" Johnny asked as he, Cassie and Mimi raced up and helped her down the stairs to the floor where Palmon and Tai stood and helped them lay down on the stone floor.
"There is a spirit of evil loose in the castle, draining my power. Here my son." she said as she waived her hand weakly over his face. "I have given you the power to see this demon, simply touch another and they will share this power." Johnny smiled.
"I’ll get him." Johnny said as he held his mother’s hand for a moment then stood up. "Take care of her." Johnny asked Cassie. Cassie nodded. "Feel like a little ghost busting, Tai?" Johnny asked.
"You bet." Tai said as the two raced off towards the inner chambers.

When Johnny and Tai reached the open door they never expected to see a ghost shaped like a robot, one that resembled a plane. Johnny’s mouth fell open but he quickly closed it.
"STARSCREAM!" Johnny yelled. The jet-man turned. "How long have you been dead?" He asked.
"On your clock, two years. And now you will die." Starscream said as he aimed his laser canon on his arm. Johnny jumped towards Tai, avoiding Starscream’s repulser rays.
"Tai, get him into the center of the room, I’ve got an Idea." Johnny said as he raced into one corner.

"Who are you to meddle in my affairs?" Darkonda asked as he swung his sword towards War-Greymon.
"I am a Digimon, and I’m fighting for all of my kind." War-Greymon said as he trapped Darkonda’s sword in his talon’s and forced it from his hands.
"You think you’ve won?" Darkonda asked, as he swung his claws at War-Greymon, to have them shattered harmlessly on War-Greymon’s armor.
"I don’t think so, I know so." War-Greymon replied as he lunged his talons into Darkonda’s chest. With a scream, Darkonda exploded in a blast of fire. Moments later, War-Greymon shrunk to the lovable little T-Rex, Agumon. Agumon scratched his head in surprise.
"I guess I don’t know my own strength."

Starscream was furious. Johnny had seemed to disappear, and he was only able to play with the small Japanese child. But for the moment that would serve his propose. He would enjoy just tiring the child out until he became so exhausted that he could kill him with a cutting laser and the boy would be to weak to run.
"Hey Casper!" Johnny said from behind them. Starscream turned to see Johnny, standing as if to protect the door behind him.
"Are you in a hurry to die?" Starscream asked as he floated closer.
"No, why are you in a hurry to leave this dimension?" Johnny asked as he flung the door behind him open, releasing a gush of fierce wind that tried to suck in whatever it could hold onto, which was Starscream.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I will have my REVENGE!!!!!!!!" Starscream shrieked, as he disappeared into the dark vortex behind the door. Johnny quickly swung the door shut before anything else could get threw. Tai and Johnny sat down on the cold stone ground, exhausted.
"So, is this part of the Eternia tourist trap?" Tai asked.
"Yeah, it’s right up there with the Snake Mountain amusement park." Johnny said coldly. There was a moment of silence, then the two burst in a mountain of up-roaring laughter.

Three hours later, the Digi-destens and their Digimon were all together, along with Johnny, Cassie, Man-At-Arms, Teela, Adam, Ben and Morbious. Johnny and Morbious snickered.
"Do you think we should open a daycare my friend?" Morbious asked with a laugh in his Translvanian ascent.
"Hell, why not, we do well on the getting along with kids part." Johnny joked.
"Now if we could just control the cursing." Cassie said, as she gave Johnny a playful but hard elbow to the gut. Johnny shrugged in playful innocence while Adam walked up to Tai and his friends.
"Hey kid’s, I know you’re all due in the digital world but would you kids mind attending a wedding, we’re short a ring bearer and flower girl and I think T.K. and Cari would fill the part nicely." Matt stood up.
"I’m in, but it’s really a group decision." he said.
"I think we all feel the same way." Gabumon, Matt’s digimon added.
"I think it would be good for us all to do something other than fighting evil monsters." Sora commented. Adam smiled.
"Then it’s settled. Teela if your ready, we should prepare for the wedding to be scheduled next week." Teela was so happy she wanted to stand from her wheelchair, but the seat belt her father had installed on her chair prevented her.
"That would be perfect."

Johnny sat in the royal courtyard, starring down at the small jewel he now held in his hand. Could this gem have really been the cause of so much trouble? And what would King Hiss and Thanos do if they knew it still existed some how, and who was the woman who had given him the original all those years ago? Or was there ever a second one to begin with? Could it some how have been the same item, but still be in two different places. For the moment he didn’t care. He was tired of conspiracies and test of righteousness. For now he had to handle living through Man-At-Arms’s classes on ‘how to be a good teacher’, but it was still easier than wrestling a giant alien dragon, and a hell of a lot safer, not to mention the groomsmen suit he’d have to fit himself into later.

Darkonda kneeled down in the enormous thrown room, at the edge of a bottomless, smog filled chasm. Countless times Skeletor and Hordak stood at this point and never had a thing accomplished. With himself however, that would be different, he would see to it.
"Were you defeated?" A voice asked from within the smog, machine like and fearsome.
"Yes master." Darkonda said, not rising form his kneeling position.
"Excellent, leave me, I will instruct you further at a later date." Darkonda stood, bowed and walked out. The doors behind him slid shut and Darkonda walked down the hall to another of the many doors in the hallway. There he met another demon.
"What was said?" King Hiss asked.
"Horde Prime is completely convinced I am under his control alone." Darkonda replied.
"Excellent, than resurrecting the Decepticon was not a mistake after all, yet we are not to waist this opportunity. Learn what you can from him then...influence him to join us." King Hiss said as he disappeared.
"Yes my master."
